Data Interconnect World Food Day

By October 9, 2019culture

The DI-Hards have been busy bee’s in the kitchen and on August 22nd, we hosted our very own World Food day, where staff members brought an array of homemade dishes from all around the world into the office. We enjoyed Chicken Adobo, a traditional dish from the Philippines to Vadai from Soula, Indian to an English Lardy cake. We even had a live demonstration of freshly made Dosa’s, an Indian style pancake, from one of the team.

In total, we tried dishes from various regions of India, Pakistan, The Philippines, Russia, Portugal and various areas of the UK. The office was bursting with smells of delicious food, with a great sense of community.

On the day, we encouraged staff to try new things and to ask questions. The office & staff room was filled with laughter, food & stories of why dishes were chosen, how they are made, why an Indian chutney is called a chutney and if a certain curry was hot or not! Everyone got into the spirit of embracing various cultures.

At Data Interconnect we consider ourselves one team and enjoy including every member of the team & learning about each team member. The social committee often host celebrations or event which embraces this very belief. Our next event is to celebrate Diwali. The office will be filled with colour, light and various traditional activites to celebrate this amazing festival of light.
